As reported by the Cambridge News, on Tuesday, May 21, 2012, the British auction house Rowleys will put up for sale four drawings by LEO RAWLINGS (1918-1984) a member of the 2nd Battalion Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders in Malaya tasked with defending Singapore.

Rawlings was taken prisoner by the Japanese at the fall of Signapore in 1942 and he eventually ended up working, along with many others thousands of POWS, on the construction of the notorious Thai-Burma Death Railway. He secretly recorded the experience in a series of drawings and ink washes.
